Our Return Policy

Computer Town Australia does not normally give refunds under the following circumstances:

  • Change of Mind
  • Incorrect/Incompatible Product
  • No Proof of Purchase provided
  • The product has been damaged or “Warranty Void” stickers have been damaged as a result of alterations to the product.
  • Damage to a product due to unintended use (e.g. Overclocking)
  • Opened or non-factory sealed Software will not be eligible for a refund under any circumstances.

 

Eligibility for Refund, Return or Warranty Claim

To qualify for a refund, return or warranty claim, the following requirements must be met:

  • Details of the fault must be recorded through the online Resolution Centre
  • Goods must be returned to Computer Town Australia (either by in store delivery or by Courier)
  • Provide Proof of Purchase for the goods
  • Cease use of the faulty good once identified
  • Ensure that the fault is not a result a misuse or unintended use and not caused by the operator of the product
  • The product must be inspected and NOT disposed of, destroyed or misplaced.
  • Value of the goods has not depreciated as a result of a delay.
  • Ensure the goods are returning in good condition and testing/working order where applicable

     

How to request Refund, Return or Warranty Claim

  2. Click Here to begin the Warranty Process. We will endeavour to address your problem in 1-2 business days with the appropriate process for returning your goods.

 

** PLEASE NOTE **

Goods inspected and deemed to have no fault or illegible for a warranty claim, a service assessment of $69.95 with additional shipping charges may be applied; and any service or assessment fees charged by authorised repair agents or service centres may also be applied. We may also require you to pay Computer Town all costs associated with returning the goods in question back to you if the product is found to have been supplied to you in accordance with Australian Consumer Law.

 

Rejection of a Claim

Computer Town Australia reserves the right to refuse a refund, Return or Warranty Claim on the following conditions:

  • No proof of purchase is provided
  • Physically Damaged the goods
  • The claim is a “Change of Mind” condition. This includes if the product is not compatible with other components or if the product is unsuitable (where no details or guidelines have been provided about the products intended use/purpose)
  • The product is advertised or for sale cheaper from another seller.
  • Change of circumstances that no longer warrant the use or needs of the goods
  • Goods have been used in an unintentional or abnormal way. (Note that these guidelines may be provided by Manufacturers of the product)
  • Goods have been damaged by making alterations
  • Goods have been damaged by factors beyond our control
  • Goods have not been maintained according to a service or care instructions (if provided)



Restocking and Restocking Fee’s

In special circumstances, Computer Town Australia may offer the consumer a conditional return in the event of wanting to exchange products under a “Change of Mind” condition, under the following conditions:

  • Computer Town Australia is notified with 5 working days of receiving delivery of the purchase.
  • The goods are not opened, used and in identical condition to which they were shipped.
  • A restocking fee of 35% will apply to the goods purchase price
  • The goods are subject to inspection for condition of the product and are returned to Computer Town Australia at the customers expense.

 

Computer Town Australia will review these circumstances on a case-by-case basis and notify the customer of our decision. Acceptance of goods will be at Computer Town Australia’s discretion.

 


Refunds

Refunds done with in store credit hold the following conditions:

  • Store credit cannot be redeemed or swapped for cash.
  • Store credit cannot be traded or swapped between customers.
  • Store credit can only be used for online orders.

 

Store credit can be requested at any time instead of a refund which will be credited into your Computer Town account.

Computer Town Australia reserves the right to change our online credit program at any time without notice.

 

Returning Goods To Computer Town

Computer Town Australia does not take any responsibility for goods damaged or lost in transit when being shipped back to Computer Town. Products damaged during transit may void any refund, return or warranty claim both with Computer Town Australia and Manufacturer’s warranty.

Please ensure that all items are packed appropriately with appropriate protection for the item, with boxes labelled fragile as appropriate.

The customer is responsible for all charges associated with returning the products to Computer Town Australia.

Appropriate shipping charges may be reimbursed by Computer Town Australia where consumer law entitles the customer to such a reimbursement.

Customers may also return the goods via in store drop off. Open hours for goods returning is 9:00am to 5:00pm – Monday To Friday excluding all NSW public holidays.

For manufacturers warranty, outside the 12 month warranty period offered by Computer Town Australia, customers are encouraged to contact the manufacturer of the item to organise warranty and familiarise them selves with that companies returns and warranty policies, organise pick up and delivery, and obtain technical support and warranty assistance.

If the device is part of a storage device, such as Hard Drive, external hard drive, laptop, computer system etc, Computer Town Australia takes no responsibility for User Generated Data (as that term is defined in the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)) and Software contained on the device.



Discounted, Special Orders and Clearance Items

Computer Town Australia does not normally give refunds under the following circumstances:

  • Change of Mind
  • Incorrect/Incompatible Product
  • No Proof of Purchase provided
  • The product has been damaged or “Warranty Void” stickers have been damaged as a result of alterations to the product.
  • Damage to a product due to unintended use (e.g. Overclocking)
  • Opened or non-factory sealed Software will not be eligible for a refund under any circumstances.
  • The product is available cheaper from another location.

 

Please note that limited Warranty may apply for discontinued, clearance or Special Ordered products. These will be detailed in the product description if relevant, but if unsure, please contact us for more information regarding to warranty policies related to your product.

 


Manufacturer’s Warranty

Manufacturers warranty may apply outside of Computer Town Australia’s offered warranty policy. Before making a manufacturer’s warranty claim, please ensure that your product meets the following conditions:

  • The goods are not physically damage
  • The products in question have not been used incorrectly or in an unintended way. (i.e. overclocking or anything mentioned in the manufacturers warranty that may void their warranty)
  • The product is not destroyed, lost or disposed of.
  • Value of the goods has not depreciated as a result of a delay.

 

Computer Town Australia is not the manufacturer of items, and not an authorized service centre. As a result we recommend that customers the manufacturer of the item for technical support and troubleshooting before returning to us for a warranty claim.


Please note that different manufacturers will have different policies with regards to warranty claims. Some may offer free services and assessments while with others, may have assessment charges applicable to the product. Some manufacturers may also offer onsite pick up for their goods. Time frames may vary between manufacturers, so we are unable to provide time-frame estimates for warranty claims lodged outside of Computer Town Australia directly.

 

For privacy and security reasons, Computer Town Australia cannot lodge for a warranty claim on customers behalf directly with manufacturers.
