1.Plugging in the Monitor

When connecting your new screen, we recommend using the DISPLAY PORT cable. Usually these come in the box for the monitors and looks like the following connection type. They look like HDMI but are slightly different, so make sure you use the correct cable.

If you do not have one of these connections, HDMI is your next best options, but be aware that it may not support the maximum refresh rate of your monitor using this cable.

 


2.Configuring Windows

One you have turned the computer on and are booted to your windows screen, follow these steps to get your monitor running at the appropriate refresh rate.

  1. Right Click on your desktop and select Display Properties

 

  1. Scroll to the bottom of this page and select “Advanced Display Properties”

 

  1. Check your display info here for your gaming monitor. If your refresh rate is listed as 144Hz, you’re good to go, if not, select

  1. Select the monitor Tab from the top, and change the refresh rate to match that of your monitor (144Hz, 165Hz, 240Hz, etc). You will not be able to select a refresh rate above what your screen is capable of, so just select the highest, and you’re good to go
