Slash your phone bills be using broadband internet to make calls to normal phones.

Why you want voip.
Did you know that your Internet connection can be used for voice and even video messaging for unlimited calling by using Voice-over-Internet (VoIP)? Use your cable or DSL Internet connection to make phone calls to normal phones, and you'll lower monthly phone bills and add services and features not available with traditional phone services.

Why would you want to change your perfectly good telephone at home or in the office? Nothing really changes only your call cost reduce significantly.

The main benefit of VoIP is very non-technical and simple to understand - it is cheaper than traditional phone services and has more features than you probably currently know about or use. With VoIP you can call anywhere at anytime for less money. And it's better than your traditional line because it expands the power of your phone. .

Making and receiving calls.
Placing a call is exactly the same as with any other regular phone. Just pick up the handset and dial the telephone number that you want to ring. It's that simple. You don't have to be technical or computer savvy to use VoIP. Receiving calls also works the same. The phone will ring just like a regular phone. With VoIP, just pick up the phone and start talking!

In more technical terms, your D-Link Broadband VoIP Router splits your high-speed broadband connection and converts your analog signal to digital. The digital signal is sent through your modem and across the Internet. Your Internet connection will work as it did before you installed the D-Link Broadband VoIP Router, sending emails and other Web data to your personal computer as normal.

When someone calls you, they dial your regular telephone number. Behind the scenes, your number looks similar to an e-mail address. This number instructs the call to travel over the Internet to the D-Link Broadband VoIP Router, your phone rings, and all you have to do is pick up and answer it..
